Terms of Use

The rules for using NYC Building Compliance. Effective August 1, 2026.

By using NYC Building Compliance (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms. The Site is published by Resultex Media Group LLC and is a free informational resource for NYC building owners and managers.

Informational only — not professional advice

NYC Building Compliance is not a law firm, engineering firm, or compliance vendor, and is not affiliated with the City of New York. Nothing on the Site is legal, engineering, financial, or compliance advice, and using the Site creates no professional relationship. Which obligations "apply" to a building is a well-grounded estimate derived from public data and the thresholds in each law — not a legal determination. Always confirm your building’s specific obligations with the relevant NYC agency (DOB, HPD, FDNY, DEP, etc.) or a licensed professional before acting.

Data accuracy

Building characteristics, violations, and records come from public sources including NYC Open Data (PLUTO, DOB, HPD, DEP, DOHMH, DCWP, LPC), ACRIS, and NYC.gov. That data can be incomplete, delayed, or contain errors, and rules and dollar amounts change. We present it "as is" and make no warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Referrals to third parties

If you ask us to connect you with a professional, any resulting relationship is solely between you and that professional. We do not endorse, supervise, or guarantee any third party’s services, and we are not responsible for their work. We may receive compensation for a referral; that never changes what the free tools show you.

Acceptable use

Use the Site lawfully and for your own buildings or properties you manage. Don’t scrape, overload, or attempt to disrupt the Site or the public data services it relies on, and don’t use it to harass or compile information about individuals.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Resultex Media Group LLC and NYC Building Compliance are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decision made in reliance on the Site. The Site is provided "as is" and "as available."

Changes & governing law

We may update these Terms; continued use means you accept the changes. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Questions: hello@nycbuildingcompliance.com.
